Trail of Shadows - The second book in the Bee Adkins trilogy (grittier and more heartbreaking) continues Bee's story of hardship and the struggle to live a moral life. Duane Keeling has masterfully blended fact and fiction into a well-written, fascinating story. Enjoyed this book and looking forward to the last book.
Shelter - Interesting Story And Well Written
The author used detailed descriptions for the timeline and area of the story setting. He keeps the reader focused on the story. I am looking forward to reading his next book.
Shelter - Loved it! Excellent story and well written. Bee was someone I would have liked to have known. Looking forward to the Bee Adkins series.
Path of the Peacemaker - Loved this book! Well written and entertaining. The blending of creative fiction and fact made a truly remarkable story. Looking forward to reading the last two books in the series.
Shelter - A great read!
I enjoyed this story very much! I recommend it to everyone who is interested in family history! I look forward to reading the trilogy about Bee when it comes out!
Road to Redemption - Book 3 continued Bee Adkins' story in the same well-written, engrossing style. Duane Keeling is an excellent storyteller. A great read about a man with a hard, but interesting life. I've enjoyed reading the entire trilogy.
The Path of the Peacemaker was a fun and interesting read! Bee Adkins, from his childhood to his coming of age and making his way into manhood in the harsh physical and economic conditions of the desert Southwest as well as Mexico, is a character of incredible grit and will to do what he must to help his family survive, all while making quite a name for himself. He’s such a flawed hero- entirely human and relatable in a way that keeps the reader cheering him on, as history unfolds through his story. I love that Bee Adkins was a real person, with a battle raging both inside and outside of him in the Wild West, making decisions that would affect his entire life and that of many others as well. Mr. Keeling writes in a very readable & engaging style, making this a thoroughly enjoyable way to learn the history of the early 1900’s Southwest, while enjoying a great story!
